A San Francisco prosecutor who was arrested for investigation of domestic violence is free after posting bail.
Authorities told the San Francisco Chronicle that assistant district attorney 34-year-olde Sanaz Nikaein (sah-NAHZ' nih-KANE') was booked Saturday.
District attorney's spokeswoman Stephanie Ong Stillman says the state attorney general will handle the case to avoid a potential conflict of interest.
Stillman did not release any details of the arrest or identify the victim.
Neither Nikaein nor her husband responded to the Chronicle's request for comment.
Nikaein has been an attorney since 2004.
