Huge whale shark winch pier. This photo shows a dead whale shark is hoisted on a pier in the Pakistani port city of Karachi on Tuesday.
Local reports said five cranes were used to the dead shark, which reportedly measured about 12 meters long and 2 meters wide and weighed between six and seven tons lifting.
Reports said that it washed up dead near the pier after being spotted apparently unaware about 150 miles away 10 days ago.
Karachi's Express Tribune newspaper quoted local reports claim the carcass sold for 1.7 million rupees, or more than $ 17,000.
